KD Sadler Studio is an online space for information about my work, process, interactive and digital content, special features, and exhibitions.
The Eyes Forward "For Lygia" project begins as a portfolio of ten photographs that capture my experimental perspective and interests in exploring alternative narratives, reality, and elements of time in still photography.
The plan for this series of photographs was to document and observe my experience of time with Lygia, my children’s 94-year-old paternal grandmother. My presentation includes a collaborative book titled EYES FORWARD “For Lygia” based on the photographic images we produced that day. I then sent the book to twelve different people. I invited their participation to select a page and then to mark the space on the page as they wished, with a response or reflection before returning the book to me. The artwork and the process confirmed our presence together in this collaboration.
My intention with this work is to create a space for the mind and hand to wander beyond the margins and the edges of the page. I am interested in how the collective images and responses will occur for me and others each time I share this artwork.
